American Airlines and other carriers announced hundreds more cancellations. Tens of thousands of passengers are stranded at airports around the US.

THIS VOLUNTEER EFFORT IS TO PROVIDE A PLACE TO STAY, POSSIBLY A MEAL TO EAT, FOR STRANGERS WHO ARE STRANDED. It's A "Good Samaratin" effort, and both passengers and would-be hosts assume all risk. By participating in any way, you agree to assume all responsibility for what happens to you! You further agree that Earthcomber is not liable and you imdemnify Earthcomber for any harm or damages you may incurr.

This said, here's the idea:

HOSTS: If you have a spare room, pull-out couch or other accommodation, place post your address, phone and FIRST NAME ONLY. You can delete your location anytime. (The link is that tiny one below on the left, "»Create a location.")

STRANDEES: If you desperately need a night's sleep or hot meal outside the airport, feel free to contact anyone who offers suitable accommodations.

RULES: Most people are good, but dealing with strangers is risky. Passengers AND hosts are urged to examine IDs of their guests or hosts, relay that information along with contact numbers and your plans, to a friend or family member. Also, give the same information to local police.

MONEY: NO MONEY SHOULD BE EXCHANGED FOR ACCOMMODATIONS. NO MONEY FOR ANYTHING NOT AGREED IN ADVANCE SHOULD BE EXCHANGED. Those should be limited to exceptionally high toll charges, and special needs of the guest(s).
